Cheaper Way to Wedding Invitation

A white wedding is not only expensive but a good source for headaches. And if you happened to be out of luck, there’s a possibility of being jilted on your wedding day via a text message also like what happened to Karen Cassmond. But like what yahoo said, walking in the aisle in a full white gala is most woman’s dream and its going to be happening soon for my friend.

A wedding invitation in our local shop cost around 150 pesos PER PIECE. If you are planning to send out 80 invitations, this would mean that invitation alone would cost 12,000 pesoses (207 Euro). Who would like to spend money on something that most people will just throw away afterwards?

Enter girlfriends as production workers and carbon market as the source of raw materials and guess what you get? A cheap and unique invitation made of organic materials that cost 87.5 pesos only per piece or 7000 pesos (120.7 Euro) for 80 invitations. Actually, it would have been a lot cheaper than that but got to feed the production workers with lots of food to get them moving.

The wooden invitation opens up like a steno notebook with the first page showing the time and place of the Eucharistic Celebration (this means the church) and the reception that follows.

Succeeding pages shows the list of people and their roles such as the officiating priest, principal sponsors, best man, maid of honor, groomsmen, bridesmaids, flower girls, bible bearer, ring bearer, arrhae bearer and secondary sponsors for candle, veil and cords.

I didn’t know that there are so many roles for a wedding and what the heck is arrhae bearer anyway?

So, what do you think of this invitation? Not only the future married couple saved money but bonding time with girlfriends was priceless too.

  1. You guys are just creative! I love DIY. During my wedding I personalized a lot of things too like the pillow for our rings and for the arrhae. My cousin made me a beautiful wedding cord (that got me started to have my own little online shop for personalized wedding cords). My friends helped me out on everything. It was the happiest day for me with friends and family.

The bamboo mat looks like the one I use to make sushi.

    Congratulations to your friend!

  2. that’s a good reminder.. make sure that invitation matched with the theme of the reception.. since i wont be able to attend the wedding and reception, i would never know about this event.
