My high school life isn’t that fantastic like most people I knew have. I went to overpopulated University of San Carlos – Girls High School where each section of each year has 50-something students. And there were 7 sections. So for the entire high school years, there were approximately 1,400 students in all. I haven’t gotten the chance to be classmates with everyone including my accelerated sister. And some friends wonder why I have sooooo many friends in my other facebook account. I told them that it’s because I’m a veryyyyyy friendly person but somehow they didn’t believe me. Haha.
I hate it when someone asked me what section I belonged to for each year level because for the life of me, I just can’t remember at all!!! It all seemed like a blur to me because compare to other girls who stayed up late in school after class to hang out with boys from Boys High School or Don Bosco, I go straight at home to watch…. cartoons especially Japanese manga like Fushigi Yuugi, Samurai – X, Ranma 1/2, etc. As a result, I do NOT know how to converse with the male species well. At least I didn’t turn into a lesbo. No offense meant, but I cannot imagine myself tongue kissing another woman. I don’t know why most men find that exciting. I wonder if they too find it exciting seeing men tongue kissing another man. Haha
I try to find all my schoolmates in Facebook just to see how their lives have turned out. Some have gotten married and close to becoming obese, others have gone abroad and dating foreigners like my sister and a few who are still single and childless like me after all these years.
Some of the things that I remember during those short 4 years in high school are:
1. I play volleyball during intramurals. I once joined chess competition but I didn’t win a single game. Sniff!
2. I had my first suitor during my sophomore years. I went to my grandparent’s house and one of their neighbors asked me to be his girlfriend. I think I said yes but then said no again after a few weeks. Haha. I do not like going to my grandparent’s house since then.
3. I realized too late that one of my friends have lice for pets. Mom almost had my head shaved. I try to avoid that girl after that.
4. A guy grabbed my necklace while I was waiting for a jeepney after school. Never worn much jewelry since then.
5. Due to the lack of boys my age, my friend and I found ourselves following a veryyy tall 6th grade boy. Haha.
6. I broke a microscope slide in our Biology class. Teacher asked everyone who has never returned the slide but I never confess. I thought it cost a grand and I do not have money to pay for it.
7. Had my first experience of a musical show, Les Misérables in our cultural stage. I didn’t understand a thing.
8. I HATE ENGLISH and FILIPINO ORATION subject. I never did like being on the center stage.
9. I sell dunkin donuts in class to earn more money. My allowance is not enough to go shopping for clothes and I never had much clothes then.
10. I love retreats/recollections days because we don’t have class and foods are sooo delicious in our retreat house.
11. I am a cheater. My sister and I would usually meet a few minutes during lunch break to exchange info.
12. Since I do NOT know any guys, my father asked my cousin to be my date in our Prom. Arrggghh!
P.S. I’ll add to the list if I remember something later…
IF EVER I will have a baby girl, I don’t think I want to send her to an all girl’s school. It’s not a guarantee anyway that my girl will NEVER be pregnant at a young age. I just don’t think it’s normal to be in a gender exclusive environment when we are never meant to be in the first place.
I found youuuuuuu, on the second row the forth girl, you have one arm on your colleague’s shoulder. Am I right?
wow.. how did you know??? hahahaha…
Without looking for comments i found you too.
To watch the photo at webshots in full screen helped a lot!
wowoweee.. i’m impressed.. i once showed it to ex-boyfriend and he couldn’t find me… i guess that’s why you call them ex-boyfriend.. nyahaha
My highschool life was a lot spicier and embarrassing than yours. I’m not going to start blogging about mine…
hehehe..
I love college more than highschool.
I know a lot of people say high school life is the best, well for me it was a bit different it was better when I was in college, perhaps because I am more popular during those times
And yes I love retreats as well and I do sell but not donuts, I sell pulot
