A Single’s Reminder

It was interesting how my masturbation post become so popular that it collected 10 comments in all. It’s a feat for this blog really.

Anyway, what is this reminder above all about? Let’s just say that there’s a man that I find cute, funny, smart and very sexy. But thanks to previous experience with x-men, I need to get a grip of myself and take it slow.  Therefore, I made this signage as a reminder to ME. I think this is a good reminder to all women (even dragon women???) who is about to embark on a trip to cloud 9 also.

To apply this latest golden rule in my life, I’ve finally made the decision to purchase Nikon 3100D this coming second week of March instead of laptop because I NEED to get busy on other things such as photography.  My life MUST NOT solely revolve around a man and I can NOT expect that a man’s life will revolve around me too because this is just not healthy at all.

I hope to be able to take a few photography lesson soon (I’ll TRY not to seduce my teacher, nyahaha) before our Siquijor trip come April.  Yay.

Do Filipino Women Masturbate?

I was curious so I decided to ask my Filipino girl friends if they masturbate. The girls were shock and even told me that it’s a bit vulgar to talk about such topic.  I was told that Filipina women are not likely to admit such things publicly because “the church will get mad” but they sure don’t seem to mind that men are a regular customer of such activity. Don’t you think it’s a bit screwed that women place rigid rules on themselves but quite lax with the opposite sex?

Anyway, here are two of my friend’s opinion about such topic:

32-year old married Angie:
“In Christian view, this is a sin. I read a passage in old testament, I think in the book of Joshua wherein it implies that masturbation is part of man’s impurities, his fallen nature. And he was not even allowed to join in God’s assembly if he will not be purified. But in our society, this is acceptable because of so called health benefits. For me my main reason why I will not masturbate because it is a sin, as a Christian I must respect my body as this is the temple of the Holy Spirit.”

30-year old single Babe:
I don’t masturbate. Not because I think this is a sin because we are all humans, not perfect. I’m not shy to confess to a priest if I will masturbate in the future because I even confessed about my first pre-marital sex last December 2011.

You might be wondering if I, being a Filipina woman myself, masturbate too? Hmm, Does Karlota masturbate? Yes or No. Can you guess the answer? :)

the art of waiting…

Ebyang: “Being single doesn’t mean your weak, it means that you are strong enough to wait for what you deserve”.
Karlota: But how do you know what you really deserve if you don’t have any experiences yet to compare on?
Gemma: Now that’s sad!
Ebyang: Nosebleeding here
Gemma: Watch out Ebyang because Karlota is very experienced already.
Karlota: Experience is the best teacher for me gwaps. Most often, you never know what you want until you’ve had it and then have it slip through your fingers. :)
Ebyang: Yes, Karlota is a teacher
Gemma: And who is the principal?
Angie: Karlota still.
Gemma: Yes, Karlota is multi-talented

**************

I hang out with idealistic romantic people. They believe that first boyfriend should be the only man in their life and that you’ll get married and live happily ever after. These women are 28 – 35 years old and most of them are still single and never had any boyfriends SINCE BIRTH.  What are they doing? They wait…. They believe that even if they are living in a cave, their soul mate will still find them just like in fairy tales. These women need to wake up I think.

The sad thing is that people with experiences are sometimes considered “a bad thing”.

Choosing a partner in life is like entering into a battlefield you know. But if they prefer staring at guys from movie or basketball games and subconsciously create this illusion or expectations that normal men can never match, well, it’s their choice. :)

Laguna Cafe in SM NorthWing Cebu

After our bentusa massage at Langkawi Discovery Spa, we took a jeepney from ParkMall to SM City Cebu for our lunch at Laguna Café. It’s part of our post valentine itinerary in celebration of womanhood, singlehood and lifehood. Oh yeah!

I’ve always thought that Laguna Café is ridiculously expensive but I was wrong. For 8 people, our total bill was only 3540 and since this is a KKB event (kanya-kanyang bayad or Dutch style), my wallet only bled 442.50 pesos. One foreigner guy informed me that he would love to join us 8 women but I frankly told him that unless he is ready to pay the entire bill, this is NEVER a good idea because unfortunately, a lot of Filipinos will always expect to have a white guy pay for EVERYTHING.

So about our lunch, my favorite food was paella and the seafood platter. Paella is one of my sister’s favorite dishes and she kept telling me about this that I became curious. I wanted to be able to relate to her so I suggested that we order paella. I don’t know if paella in Laguna Café is different from what my sister had in Belgium or Spain but the paella that I’ve tried sure was lovely.

Below is our order and the bill receipt…

Langkawi Discovery Spa – Bentusa Baby

Friends decided to give our body a treat so we’ve been checking out spa within the city that is within our pocket’s budget. Good thing we discovered Langkawi Discovery Spa located at the west entrance of ParkMall, Cebu near Pru Life UK. Currently, they offer a promo from 10 AM to 3 PM so instead of the usual 400 peso for a Bentusa treat, we only paid 275 pesos. :)

What is Bentusa? I have no idea really that’s why I have decided to have this for the experience. Basically, a girl gave me a whole body massage (a very good body massage by the way) and then the girl used a heated cotton ball inside a glass to create vacuum. This means that the skin of my back was literally sucked into the glass to remove “bad gas” or “energy” that causes back or shoulder pain. Honestly, I got scared at first but the girl assured me that it’s safe and have been used for centuries.  Ever seen the movie karate kid’s fire cupping procedure done by Jackie Chan?  Same procedure.

What does it feel like? It wasn’t painful as I thought it would be and other than the circular bruises which I’ll have for days, I feel great and happy. I love it and wouldn’t mind going back for another treat.

For reservation…
