A few months ago, I tried getting to Buhisan Dam but it turned out to be a complete failure because permit from MCWD head to gain entry was required. WTF!
Thanks to mom’s assistance and connections, she gave me the contact information for which to address my Letter of Request. Yay! So on my second attempt, we finally get to see this place together for the first time and it was like a world of its own.
One of our missions while in this place is to find a NARRA TREE. This tree is supposedly Philippine’s National Tree but for the life of me, I do not know WHY this is so. Nor do I understand why we are finding it a bit difficult to find a Narra tree. I mean, you would expect that this tree should be everywhere in Philippines and easily recognizable by ALL Filipinos.
While walking about, we finally saw someone who is working with the MCWD and pointed a narra tree to us (see last picture). I asked my companion if he wanted to have his picture taken with the narra but he declined because he didn’t find the tree impressive. I guess you would find it shocking also if you find it completely bald. According to the old man, narra tree loses ALL of its leaves and will start growing one again. It’s like a phoenix I guess.
Enjoy the pictures as much as we had taking them.
