Getting to Belgium Consulate in Cebu for Legalization of Red Ribboned Documents

Belgium has a consulate in Cebu City, Philippines and it’s no longer located in Insular Life Building.

This is the current address:
Royal Consulate of Belgium
Doña Emilia Benedicto Building
7 E. Benedicto Street
6000 Cebu City, Philippines

Telephone Number: (+63) (32) 255 3200

Getting there has never been this easy with the help of my beautiful map. 🙂

Unfortunately, they don’t accept visa applications so you have to go to Manila for your visa needs. The consulate in Cebu however, assist with legalizations of documents which is what I did in behalf of my sister for her naturalization application in Belgium.

NSO Birth certificate need to be authenticated first by DFA in Manila.  If you are from Cebu or other islands, please don’t bother going to the travel agency as it will cost you around 2000 pesos PER DOCUMENT.  It would be cheaper to head for WWWExpress / DHL office and request for DFA authentication at around 650 pesos only.  After receiving the DFA authenticated documents or otherwise known as red ribboned documents, just proceed to the Belgium consulate to have it legalized by the Embassy of Belgium in Manila and pay only around 1000 pesos.

P.S. Romania Consulate in Cebu is located in the same building as Consulate of Belgium. 🙂

  3. hi, thank you for your info about the transfer of belgian consulate. it is very helpful as we still thought it is still in insular life bldg. i read that you spend so much for dfa authentication. DHL (a mail carrier) has a much cheaper offer at around five hundred pesos. you just give the documents to them, they will mail it at dfa and then they will mail it to you already authenticated. i have tried them twice and they are very reliable. they have branches in ramos st., cebu city and in lapu-lapu city.

  4. What are the requirements for getting married with a belgian guy.what documents does the belgian guy need to prepare?

  5. Can the Belgium consulate of cebu can help assess our documents prior lodging the application to the embassy in Manila to check whether there’s missing or lacking documents ?pls.i need your answer asap!!thanks ahead!

  6. Good day mam can you explain more about this requirement? family papers also?
Family’s papers which are very important too: Annexe 3bis/Verbintenis Tot Tenlasteneming, copy of Belgian ID, de Ménage/Samenstelling Van Het Gezin and 3 recent payslips. The site didn’t say anything about invitation letter and I think these papers are sufficient enough to prove that my family wanted me to visit them as well because they went to the trouble of getting them at their city hall after all. My son is in Belgium since 2010 and he wants me to visit him…do you have any advice for me??? thank you!!!
